A sleeping baby, silent, sweet

Eyes, fluttering with dreams, a smile

ever so lightly on those lips

And a million hearts she wins in style…

With gurgling sounds, and curling locks

a bashful glance, and rosy cheeks

Like a cute little doll, right out of the box

That smile, it stays for weeks and weeks

What magic wove, that God above

and filled little babies with so much love

Those little fists, that grab at our hearts

And yet they break it into a million parts

When they grow up soon, and time doth fly

And when asked to smile, they ask why?

But in our mind’s eye, they’ll always be

That effortlessly charming little baby….
