Welcome to my patch of green
Where I am the garden queen
So many Butterflies and flower beds
And a hundred yellows, blues and reds

Swings and see-saws and slides around
And sandboxes, and a lot of sound
And all my friends who have come today
Are calling me to come and play

The merry-go-round, goes round and round
Bobbing horses and a jungle gym net
And mummy watching me from across the ground
Oh please I don’t wanna go home yet

But the fireflies have come, the birds have gone
And sunset is upon us, as the night is born
It is time to say bye bye, time to get clean
Time to say goodnight to my little patch of green

Nothing more now needs be said,

What hasn’t yet been said already

When cometh those maudlin days of dread

When tears they come, all but ready

It’s tough to say goodbye, with time

It toys with your senses, clouds your mind

And nonsense hath equal footing with rhyme

With happiness in there for you to find

So so cruel is that second hand,

Never once stopping, never once still

And all that time, we thought would stand

When I wanted to say those words, but now I will

It never was goodbye, it never will be

And miles down the road, where once you met me

Those smiles, those moments, remember to see

That I always loved you, from then to eternity
