We look forward to travel, we look forward to roam
Through cities of renown, and villages, unlike home…
Through a dirty dusty road, to monuments yet unbowed
In buses, carts and rickshaws, in boats through rivers flowed…
We look forward to vacations, and holidays and leaves
We wait and wait and wait, at home under the eaves…
For when we get to make memories, for when we get to play
With cousins, friends and family, we wait to spend all day…
And gorge on such bounties, food and drink
With the love of grandma’s hands galore
And stories told with a smile and a wink,
We look forward to see what else is in store…
And meet old ponds, carved trees and pastures green
With eager memories, of journeys between
Those days when we lived, carefree, most alive
We look forward to days, when we don’t just survive…
