I Wish I could draw like an artist,
A hundred sketches, charcoal and paint
I wish I could simply cook, with a twist
Of my arms, something edible, without complaint
I wish I could build, like a mason, a house
Or chairs like a carpenter, or a tailor his blouse
I wish I could sing, like there was no one listening
I wish I could drive, through morning dew, glistening
I wish I could count, I wish I was a Count
I wish I had under me, a brave steely mount
I wish I could go on adventures so far
I wish I could fix up my broken down car
I wish I was a cop, and I wish I had a gun
Or even be a psychiatrist, I’d have so much fun
I wish I was anything, anything but me
But then again I’d probably wish again to be me
